I worked with the Foundation's stewardship and data teams, as well as the university's financial aid office, to gather raw data about student scholarships and Foundation donor funds. Then, I had a blast and a half weaving that data into a comprehensive story about the Foundation's capital campaign and its effect on students, faculty and Bronco Athletics.

Working closely with academic partners in the online Bachelor of Science in Advanced Medical Imaging program, I translated rapidly changing curriculum and complex licensure requirements into clear, navigable web pages — all within a restrictive WordPress theme. The conditional logic behind the degree requirements was the most technically demanding content I've worked with, but getting it right made me the go-to person for any program updates going forward.

One of my favorite parts about working at a university is getting to talk to students. I regularly conducted interviews, both on camera and over the phone, developing questions designed to surface the best stories. Afterward, I shaped those conversations into narratives that highlighted not only the students' degree program but the passion behind why they chose it.

Campaign Appeals + Web Copy

Working in the fundraising arm of a university means you quickly learn that small gifts matter just as much as big ones. Bronco Giving Day, the university's 36-hour giving campaign, is a great example. I collaborated with our Annual Giving team and college partners to write website copy and over 60 emails, each segmented with customized content for parents, employees, donors and college alumni.
One email for the Campus Food Pantry featured a tasteful amount of car puns, which caught readers' attention — a donor almost immediately covered the entire remaining cost of their new van.
